The project on the radio

Following the announcement of funding from the Australian Research Council, the project has been receiving some interest from the media thanks to a press release put out by Griffith University. For example, on the 8th November I was interviewed for 612 ABC Brisbane's 'Drive' programme and you can listen to the interview here.

Today I was in the ABC's South Bank studio (Brisbane) to join Mel Blachford, the collections manager at the Victorian Jazz Archive, in the 'Drawing Room' with Radio National's Waleed Aly. Our discussion of DIY archiving practice and popular music picked up on the recent announcements of the deaths of Dame Elisabeth Murdoch (whose philanthropy played a significant role in the existence of the VJA) and jazz musician Dave Brubeck. You can hear the discussion here.
